Pre-Purchase Car Inspection in Fort Lauderdale, FL

Fort Lauderdale has a large exotic-rental trade, and rental exotics get sold. A two-year-old supercar with twenty thousand miles on it here has very likely spent those miles being driven by two hundred different people who were not going to own it on Monday.

An exotic that was rented is not an exotic that was owned

Fleet exotics are serviced on schedule, because the operator has to. What no schedule covers is how they were driven: launched from cold, held at the limiter for a photograph, curbed on the causeway. Clutches, tires, brakes and wheels carry that history and the odometer does not.

That is why these cars get the Specialist inspection. The person who turns up has worked on the marque, knows what a tired dual-clutch feels like from the driver’s seat, and knows which wheel wells to look in for the damage a valet does not fix.

On this kind of purchase

  • ✓Clutch or dual-clutch condition and behavior under load
  • ✓Wheels, tires and brake discs for curb strikes, heat damage and track use
  • ✓Title and registration history for previous fleet or rental use
  • ✓Coastal salt-air corrosion on suspension and underbody, common on cars kept near the water

Every inspection also covers the full checklist — engine, transmission, brakes, suspension, tires, body and interior — with a road test where the seller permits one.

Worth knowing first

Which tier do I need for a Ferrari or a Lamborghini?

Specialist, and the booking form will steer you there. On a car where one clutch costs more than a family hatchback, you want somebody who has had that model apart before.

Can you tell if a car was a rental?

Usually from the title history, and often from the wear pattern before that. The report says what the car shows.

Do you cover Hollywood and Pompano?

Yes, across Broward. We go to the vehicle.
