On a used electric car, one component is worth more than everything else combined, and it is the one you cannot see. Battery state of health is the single biggest factor in what the vehicle is actually worth.

Range on the dashboard is not battery health
The estimated range a car displays is a prediction based on recent driving, not a measurement of capacity. A car showing good range can still have lost a significant share of its original capacity — and that loss is permanent, expensive, and reflected in resale value long before it becomes a fault.
There are also things specific to these vehicles that a conventional inspection would not look for. Charging port and cable condition, how fast the car has habitually been charged, thermal management system health, and tire wear, which runs faster on heavier vehicles with instant torque.

Can you measure battery degradation exactly?
