Pre-Purchase Car Inspection in New Braunfels, TX
Between San Antonio and Austin, cars sit in Texas sun all summer, on driveways, in parking lots and along I-35. Heat is hard on parts most buyers never think to check, and a car can drive well on a cool morning while its battery, cooling system and rubber parts are near the end.
Booking starts with the ZIP the vehicle is in, so you know whether we can cover New Braunfels before you fill in anything else.
Texas heat ages a car from the inside
Heat, not cold, is what shortens a battery’s life, and many fail without warning after a hot summer. The inspection tests the battery and charging system, so you know whether a replacement is due.
Cooling systems and air conditioning carry a heavy load here. Hoses harden and crack, coolant breaks down, and an A/C system that is low on refrigerant cools well enough in the morning and gives up by afternoon. Vent temperatures are measured, and the cooling system is checked for leaks and signs of overheating.
Sun also bakes dashboards, door seals, wiper blades and tires. Tires can look full of tread and still be old and cracked, so the inspector reads the date they were made, not just how much tread is left.

Every inspection also covers the full checklist — engine, transmission, brakes, suspension, tires, body and interior — with a road test where the seller permits one.
Not every town has the same depth of cover. Enter the ZIP and we will tell you honestly what we can promise for that address.
Worth knowing first
Can you tell how old the tires are?
Yes. Every tire carries a date code, and the inspector records it. Old tires can look fine and still be unsafe.
Do you cover Schertz, Cibolo and Garden Ridge?
Yes, and Canyon Lake and Seguin. The inspector goes to wherever the car is.
Does Texas still require a safety inspection?
Not for private vehicles. Texas ended its annual safety inspection in January 2025, so a used car can be sold without anyone checking it.
Can you inspect at a dealer along I-35?
Yes. The inspector arranges the visit with the dealer, and you do not need to be there.
What does it cost?
$249 for an everyday car, truck or SUV, and $499 for luxury, commercial and older vehicles. Nothing is paid until the report is ready.
